WEEK ONE

THURSDAY, AUGUST 21

8 a.m. - 4 p.m. - Move In Day!/Tiger Tags - Residence Halls

    Welcome to your new home! If you are living in the residence halls, report to your assigned hall and room to meet your Resident Assistant (RA), who will help you with the check-in process. FHSU faculty, staff, and Tiger football team will assist by providing Tiger Tags for the front of your vehicle or by carrying items to your new room!

11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. - Family Lunch - McMindes Cafe

    Those living in the halls will be provided with two tickets for lunch at the McMindes Cafeteria. Additional tickets and meals for off-campus students and their families may be purchased at the door.

4:30 p.m. - Living Group Meetings For New Residents - Floor Lounges

4:30 p.m. - Family Orientation, Q&A - Chuck's Place, Wiest Hall

6 p.m. - PLAYFAIR - Lewis Field

    PLAYFAIR is a REQUIRED Orientation event for all new students. Sponsored by University Activities Board

FRIDAY, AUGUST 22

8 a.m. -2 p.m. - New Student Orientation - Sheridan Hall: Beach/Schmidt PAC

    Orientation is REQUIRED for all new students.

11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. - Transfer & Adult Learner Orientation - Stouffer Lounge, MU

12:30 - 2 p.m. - Afternoon Departmental Socials - Various locations across campus

6 p.m. - Christian Challenge BBQ - Custer Hall Gazebo/Jellison Bridge

6:30 - 9:30 p.m. - Fall Gallery Walk - Hays Art Center, 112 E. 11th Street

7:30 p.m. - Michael Dean Ester, Comedian - Sheridan Hall: Beach/Schmidt PAC

SATURDAY, AUGUST 23

8 a.m - 9 p.m. - Geocruz - TBD

    Join Geosciences Department Faculty on a guided tour of various sites of Geologic and Geographic interest in Kansas. Participation limited to new FHSU students, space limited. RSVP to geosciences@fhsu.edu or 785-628-5389.

2 - 5 p.m. - Games on the Lawn - Custer Hall Gazebo & Lawn

    Come join the fun with members of the Fraternity and Sorority Community! Test your skills at yard games, check out an inflatable game, and participate in the largest FHSU campus water balloon fight!

8 - 10 p.m. - Casino Night - Chuck's Place, Wiest Hall

    Try your hand with Lady Luck and go home with a handful of prizes! Black Jack, Poker, Craps, Roulette, and the ever-popular P-L-I-N-K-O will be featured at Chuck's Place, with over $300 in prizes!

WEEK TWO

SUNDAY, AUGUST 24

Sunday Worship - On your own, as desired.

3:30 - 4:30 p.m. - Class Crawl - Sunset Lounge, Memorial Union

    Explore campus and visit the location of your classes prior to the start of the semester. Tours will leave every 15 minutes as we explore campus landmarks and traditions!

4:30 - 6:30 p.m. - BE HEARD BBQ - Quad

    Hang out with Fort Hays State University's key administrators and let your voice BE HEARD at this FREE barbeque in the quad! Find out how to become involved on campus and the community with the American Democracy Project and participate in a service project!

6:30 p.m. - Ultimate Road Trip/Evening Snack Break - Sheridan Hall: Beach/Schmidt PAC

    Start planning your 'Ultimate Road Trip' to college success! Join other first-year students to gain information that will help you survive the first college year and use your college experiences to drive yourself toward future career success! Sponsored by Monster.com, this presentation is full of great information & loads of give-aways!

8:30 p.m. - Sorority Recruitment: Information Night - Stouffer Lounge, Memorial Union

First Day of Classes

    Come enjoy music, novelties, freebies, and more at the annual picnic! Learn about involvement opportunities at FHSU and meet new people.

7 p.m. - Theatre Rally - Felten-Start Theatre, Malloy Hall

    The Theatre Rally is the opening event of the theatre season. New students can meet the theatre faculty, current students, members of Fringe; and learn about the upcoming season and opportunities to get involved in theatre.

8:30 p.m. - Challenge! - 13th & Harvest Road

    Challenge is a night where all are welcome to worship God! The group meets every Tuesday with a compassionate worship band, various speakers, personal student testimonies, and occasional snacks! Check it out for yourself!

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 27

12, 4, or 5 p.m. - Mandatory Student Organization Meetings - CSI, Memorial Union

    This meeting is MANDATORY for all Student Organization Presidents/Leaders. Topics to be covered are registration, upcoming events and more. Only one session needs to be attended. Please call the Center for Student Involvement with questions at 628-4664.

3:00 p.m. - Senior Start-Up - Black & Gold Room, Memorial Union

    Senior Start-Up is an information session geared for seniors and graduate students.
