 About Us

Fort Hays State University is committed to providing an educational opportunity to students of all backgrounds. With this in consideration, undocumented students and DACAmented students qualify for in-state tuition at FHSU. Scholarships and other resources are also available at FHSU for these students. FHSU encourages these students, like other students, to obtain a post-secondary education notwithstanding what their immigration status is!

What is DACA?

Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival is a federal legislation put into effect through an executive action under the Obama Administration on June 15, 2012. The term deferred action refers to prosecutorial deferral of removal action against an individual for a given period of time. These individuals must have been children upon entering U.S. territory and must meet other guidelines under this legislation. Deferred action does not provide lawful status or a path to citizenship.
