Become a Student Fellow - Submit a Proposal

The Institute for New Media Studies is excited to work with students at FHSU on their unique projects.  Any student may bring their ideas to the institute.  Students complete a short proposal which is reviewed by the institute's Director.  Selected student will be allowed to work closely with faculty and staff across the university to make their project happen in ways not possible anywhere else on campus.  Students who are accepted become Student Fellows of the institute for the duration of their project.  Held to high scholarly standards, this opportunity is a way to go beyond the traditional classroom experience and accomplish the caliber of work typical of advanced graduate students or faculty.

  • Students have exciting opportunities to engage unique aspects of new media
  • Students spend time in the research lab and on collaborative projects across campus
  • Students may earn up to three credit hours each semester towards their programs
  • Students can fulfill Honors College Experience requirements for each semester
  • Students accomplish work comparable to graduate studies and professional research

Fellowships are not theoretical. Students leave their fellowship with real skills, a hefty resume, and the competitive edge needed in the workplace or advanced graduate studies.
