Email Migration Update

This email will provide you with an update on the move to our new email system based on Office 365 and Outlook.

The move to Outlook email also requires an upgrade of our identity management system and creation of a new user identity – the TigerNetID. Once the upgrade is complete, there are a few additional steps required to create that final account on Office 365 and get your email setup in Outlook. This is where we are encountering some issues….which means that we are not quite ready to move email.

With the upcoming Fall and Winter Break, the decision has been made to delay the email migration to January 2016. This will ensure you continue to have access to your email over the holidays and have one less thing to get in the way of happy celebrations.

Prior to the migration you will need to do a password change, which will also register your TigerNetID on the new system. Please watch your email for those instructions in the new year.

I know there are several questions related to the move – so the Tech Services team has prepared a website with information in anticipation of the move in January. Feel free to browse these resources now, or just bookmark them for use in January. There will also be instructor led training sessions, and links to Atomic Learning videos so that everyone has access to training.

Outlook Migration Website -

The most popular question or misconception I hear has to do with your email. As part of the migration, ALL your old email will be migrated from Lotus Notes to Outlook. Your archives will be moved later, and you will receive information on that in a separate email.

There is a team in Technology Services that meets weekly to plan for the transition period and ensure a smooth transition, but would welcome your feedback or questions if they are not answered on the website. Please send these to with any questions or suggestions.
