The FHSU Human Subjects Research Institutional Review Board (IRB) and
the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) require
researchers to complete CITI ethics training prior to submitting applications
for approval or initiation of activities. CITI provides quality research ethics education that is available online, 24/7. There is no cost to FHSU employees and students completing the training.
As of January 1, 2014, the IRB requires appropriate CITI training be completed BEFORE submitting an application to the IRB. The table below illustrates the training requirements:
*Some undergraduate student activities that are class projects (no dissemination outside of class, this is very rare) may substitute this mini-training course.
Completion of the appropriate CITI training is required prior to submission of Form A by faculty. Graduate students and staff at Sternberg Museum, the Wetlands Center and Farm Supervisors that are involved in the use and care of animals are required to complete the appropriate CITI training prior to initiation of activities.
