Outstanding Service Award
Teaching, scholarly activity, and service are central to the mission of Fort Hays State University. To recognize those faculty members who exemplify excellence in these areas, the University offers a series of awards. Each semester, faculty members will have the opportunity to be nominated by their colleagues for the Outstanding Teaching Award ($500), the Outstanding Scholarly Activity Award ($500), and the Outstanding Service Award ($500).

Faculty Member of the Year
Nominations taken from Outstanding Teaching, Research, and Service Awards; selected by Provost's Council and presented at the Fall Convocation in the month of August of the next academic year by president of the university and president of Commerce Bank.
Edmund Shearer Advisor of the Year
Selected by Provost's Council and presented at the Fall Convocation in the month of August of the next academic year by president of the university and president of Commerce Bank.
Faculty are nominated by the students and the recipient is selected by the Alumni Office. Presentation of award is made at the May Commencement ceremonies.
Faculty advisors are nominated by the students and the recipient is selected by the Academic Advising Committee. Presentation of award is made at the May Commencement ceremonies.
President's Distinguished Scholar Award
Nominations are made by faculty and the recipient is selected by a committee of past recipients of the award. Presentation of award is made at the Fall Convocation in August.
Service Learning Faculty Fellows Program
A search and screen committee composed of members of the university Service-Learning Committee, five current and past service-learning fellows and a representative of the Office of the Provost will review applications and provide recommendations to the Provost. Appointments will begin on July 1 and end 18 months later on December 31.

Provost's Internationalization of the Campus or Curriculum Award
The award winner should exemplify characteristics of excellence in advancing internationalization of the campus or curriculum at FHSU. Nominations of faculty and staff (classified or unclassified) are submitted to a screening committee. Presentation of the award is made at the Fall Convocation in August.

Tiger Leaders Professional Leadership Development Program
goal of the Tiger Leaders program is to facilitate campus-based leadership
development for faculty and unclassified personnel. Participants are selected during the summer by a subcommittee of the immediately preceding program participants.
