Online Chats
Online Chats are administered through Chat University, a
program that allows Fort Hays faculty and staff to interact
with a specific group of interested individuals. For example, the
Department of Teacher Education might want to host an online
chat with its prospective undergraduate students on specific
date and time. The department is responsible for sending
out e-mail announcements to those students who have declared
an interest in the program, and setting up a time and date
for the chat to take place. Then, as the students begin to log
on with questions, faculty and staff from FHSU can answer
their questions and begin to build the relationships that
are so important to our students.
A training program is provided for FHSU faculty and staff who
will be administering the online chats.
Listserv E-mails
Large databases are currently and can be produced to allow
for certain individuals to receive e-mails announcing upcoming
events, program offerings, and other recruitment information.
These mass e-mails are easy to send, can provide feedback
from interested parties, and are a free opportunity to market
your department.
