The Department of Agriculture offers students an opportunity for study and training in the diversified fields of agribusiness, animal science, and agronomy. The instructional environment exposes students to the application of current industry technology, scientific methodology, and business principles to provide a practical education in preparation for a variety of careers in the agricultural industry. Undergraduate four-year degree programs offered by the department include a Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. The Agriculture degree consists of specialized areas of study in Agronomy, Animal Science, Beef Cattle Management, and General Agriculture. Students interested in a career in veterinary medicine often choose one of the agriculture degree programs as their major area of study while working to complete coursework in the pre-veterinary medicine curriculum.
