Exciting and rewarding career options, as well as personal aesthetic growth, await successful graduates of the Fort Hays State University Department of Art. Degree programs guide students through introductory courses in technique and design theory, including art history, and an in-depth concentration of study in 11 different studio, design or academic disciplines. To become an art major, prior formal art instruction is not a requirement. Motivation, dedication and creativity are all the background necessary for those desiring to be art majors. If you have a sincere interest in creating an open mind, you can be successful as an art major.
