The Plan

Fort Hays State University has approved a new version of its crisis plan. The crisis plan is available on this Web site.

A major feature of the crisis plan is an emergency notification system. Students are required to provide the telephone number and the e-mail address where they wish to be notified in the case of an emergency. Failure to respond will mean that they cannot use TigerTracks to see their grades at the end of the semester.

For their own safety, students, faculty and staff are strongly encouraged to provide the telephone number and the e-mail address where they wish to be notified in the case of an emergency.

In the case of emergencies on campus that pose an imminent threat, everyone who has provided emergency contact information will receive an immediate alert by telephone, text message (if they have a device that accepts text messages) and e-mail.

To provide your contact information, please go to TigerTracks, log in, and go to the Contact Information page under the Online Services tab. Enter your emergency telephone number and e-mail address on the right column of the page. Also, update your standard contact information on the left column of the page.

All students, faculty and staff have been assigned a TigerTracks account. If you have never activated your account, or if you are not sure how to provide your contact information, see the CTC HelpDesk Web site or call them at 5276 for assistance. (As time passes, more and more information is going to be available exclusively on TigerTracks, so it is in everyone's interests to activate his or her account.)

If you are a staff member who does not have easy access to a computer, you may call the Personnel Office at 4462 to provide your contact information, and that office will post the information on the emergency notification system data base.

We ask all deans, department chairs and supervisors to assist us in making sure that everyone has the opportunity to provide contact information.

We believe this is a great leap forward in assuring safety on the FHSU campus.
