Fort Hays State University's Virtual College relies on over 200 dedicated adjunct faculty members from across the world to help facilitate its courses. Our adjuncts are highly-qualified, with 30 percent carrying terminal degrees. At FHSU, adjunct faculty are provided training, on-going encouragement, and recognition. Academic departments offer content-specific support and maintain a "one faculty" concept; adjunct or full-time, online or on-campus, all faculty work together to serve students. TigerTech offers training and support in current educational technologies and best practices for online teaching. Finally, the university recognizes adjunct faculty through a comprehensive Adjunct Recognition Program, with honors specifically for top adjuncts included in the broader scheme of the university's annual teaching awards.
Adjunct faculty are selected and hired by department chairs and content area experts.
