Transfer of Credit Appeal Process
FHSU transfer students come from all over the world and there are thousands of institutions across the globe. We want to maximize your transfer credits to the best of our ability; however, some courses may need further evaluation. It's an easy process, just be prepared to plan ahead if further evaluation is needed. Please review our flexible appeal process below:
1. Contact
your degree analyst to start the appeal process.
2. Send
course description(s) and/or syllabi (email or fax for quicker turn around) to
your degree analyst.
3. Your
degree analyst will forward the course description(s) and/or syllabi to the department
for evaluation.
4. Typically
this evaluation could take up to two weeks .
5. Once
evaluated, your degree analyst will contact you to discuss how the course
will or will not transfer.
The FHSU Registrar's Office evaluates all credits for general acceptance to Fort Hays State University; however, each academic department makes the final determination of credits accepted toward their specific major. Credit determined to be applicable toward one major may not necessarily apply toward another.
Most academic course work will be accepted by FHSU if the credit was earned from a regionally accredited two-year or four-year college, university of community college. Transfer credit may be granted based on approved partnership/cooperative programs.
All questions regarding the transfer of credit appeal process can be directed to the FHSU Registrar, Dr. Joey Linn.
