American Democracy at FHSU
The past year, members of the Vision Team met to map out a plan for FHSU's involvement in the American Democracy Project. We studied and discussed various literature concerning the ADP. Also, some of the study circles that were formed began to meet to identify issues that were of importance to the university family. The study circle I lead is in regard to the FHSU's relationship with the surrounding community. The circle consists of three faculty members, two students, two community members and me. The first meeting we had was very informative for me in that the business community members said that they and their counterparts tend to view FHSU as a business partner more so than a service provider. For the most part, everyone felt that the relationship was positive but that the lines of communication could be utilizes better.
