Ben Franklin Papers project to be held September 26, 2007

We are excited to announce that the Ben Franklin Papers project will be held September 26, 2007 in the Gross Memorial Coliseum at Fort Hays State University. Students in the fifth and eighth grades attending Ellis County schools will be invited to participate in the day event.

This year Benjamin Franklin will welcome students to the event and tell of his life. Students will then move to hands-on interactive learning stations that explore the life of Benjamin Franklin and the contributions that he made to our society. These stations will once again be facilitated by the students in Sue Jacobs’ Social Studies Teaching Methods course.

Following the event, students will have the option to participate in an essay contest. The top three winners for each age division will receive prizes, with first prize being an i-Pod shuffle.
