Dissemination of Policies and Program Information
The university recognizes that in order for the Affirmative
Action Program to succeed, it must be communicated clearly and
understood by members of the entire university community. It
is the responsibility of the affirmative action officer to coordinate
internal and external dissemination of information concerning
the university's Affirmative Action Program and equal employment
opportunity policies.
Internal dissemination of information includes the following:
- Statements of affirmative action and equal employment
opportunity policies included in all employee and faculty handbooks.
- Statements of affirmative action and equal employment
opportunity policies circulated in memoranda to all deans, departmental
and unit heads, and supervisors and included in faculty and staff
newsletters.
- Special meetings with deans, departmental and unit heads,
and supervisors to discuss the intent of the policies and individual
responsibility for effective implementation.
- Posting of affirmative action policy on all permanent
bulletin boards.
External dissemination of information includes:
- Informing all recruiting sources of the university's
equal employment and affirmative action policies.
- Including equal opportunity clauses in all contracts
of the university.
- Preparing for publication in the local news media
information concerning the university's Affirmative Action
Program.
