Dr. Robert J. Stephenson grew up in Illinois and went on to attend Black Hawk
Junior College in NW Illinois. He later transferred to Western Illinois University
where he received a B.S. in Agronomy, graduating with honors. He then attended
Kansas State University, where he received both his M.S. and Ph.D. in Agronomy.
Dr. Stephenson went to work at the Ona Research Center in South Florida as an
Extension Forage Specialist for 3 years and later joined the Agriculture Department
at Fort Hays State University in 1988. He is an Associate Professor and teaches
teaches courses in "Agronomy", he advises approximately 30 students and coaches
the Crops Judging Team. His involvement includes
serving as Co-advisor to the FHSU Delta Tau
Alpha Chapter from 1992-2004 and as National
Delta Tau Alpha Executive Treasurer (1992-2004).
Dr. Stephenson currently advises the Agronomy
Club. He has been actively involved in community service including judging
crops at the Kansas State Fair. Dr. Stephenson has been recognized both locally
and nationally for his outstanding efforts in teaching.
