The focus of this major
is on the computerized business applications in a global
environment.
An AIS major may choose from three areas of emphasis: business
applications programming, computer networking, or E-commerce
database administration. All AIS majors are required to take
33 credit hours of computer courses and a 27-credit hour
business
core.

Opportunities
A) BEGINNING:
Upon graduation most AIS majors accept employment as computer
programmers, software engineers, computer network administrators,
or applications support/database administrators.
B) LONG-TERM: Career
progression includes positions such as systems analyst,
E-commerce
database administrator, information systems manager, and
vice president for information systems. The background in
business and computing
prepares you well for upward progression in the technical
environment.

languages is available including Java, JavaScript, XML,

C++, Visual Basic, RPG IV, Assembler, SQL, and COBOL.
