Born and raised in Amherst, Ohio. Enlisted in the Army in 1974 and spent four years at Fort Bragg, N.C. Received a bachelor's degree from Kent State in 1981. Worked in the tax departments of two CPA firms: Touche, Ross and CO., in Cleveland, Ohio, for one year and then Junkermier, Clark, Campanella, Stevens in Great Falls, MT, for five years. In 1987, I went to the University of Montana for an MBA degree and have been teaching and working at universities ever since.
