Central Kansas Medical Center

Central Kansas Medical Center is a 120 bed-facility with 2 campuses, one in Great
Bend and the other, 25 miles away, in Larned, Kansas. CKMC focuses upon providing
a wide variety of primary and specialty care including: 24 hour emerergency room,
intensive care, acute care, Level II nursery, skilled care, respite, long term
care, Alzheimer's special care unit, in/out patient chemical dependency treatment,
Golden Belt Home Health and Hospice, and Central Kansas Health Equipment and
Supply (Durable Medical Equipment). Approximately 24,000 radiographic procedures
are performed annually.
Hays Medical Center

As a regional referral center for Northwest Kansas, Hays Medical Center facilities
are among the finest in the state. In addition to being a national leader in
telemedicine, HMC is also home to a new heart care center, vascular and interventional
radiology lab and state of the art cancer center. Physical medicine and rehabilitation
services, neurology, quality orthopedic care, in-patient psychiatric care,
a diagnostic sleep center and a women's center are among the medical center's
strengths. HMC has also been nationally recognized for physician recruitment.
The medical staff has doubled in the past 3 years. Approximately 41,000 radiographic
procedures are performed each year. With a 28 million dollar construction and
renovation project scheduled for completion in 2000, HMC is preparing for the
future healthcare
needs of the region.
Olathe Medical Center

Southwest Medical Center

Located within Seward County, this facility is a 93-bed acute care regional
medical center providing a full range of services for the people of southwest
Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and Colorado. Services include; OB/GYN, surgical,
rehabilitation, cardio/pulmonary diagnostics and treatment, skilled nursing,
geropsychiatric, VA primary care, and others. Within the radiology department,
services include MRI, CT, and nuclear medicine and approximately 18,000 procedures
are performed annually.
St. Catherine Hospital

St. Catherine Hospital is licensed for 132 beds and is the southwest Kansas
regional referral healthcare facility and is JCAHO-accredited. St. Catherine
Hospital was one of the first in the state to establish a Level II Neonatal
Care Unit and mobile lithotripsy. As a regional primary and specialty hospital,
St. Catherine Hospital provides a wide vareity of care including 24 hour emergency
room, intensive care unit, acute care, skilled care, home health and hospice.
The Cancer Center of St. Catherine Hospital opened in May 1997, and offers
high energy radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and surgery to combat cancer.
Scheduled for completion in late January 1998, are the Imaging Services expansion
where state-of-the-art MRI, ultrasound, mammography, nuclear medicine, and
CAT scan equipment will be housed, and the Ambulatory Surgical and Services
Centers (same day surgery and physical therapy, sleep disorder center, cardiopulmonary
rehabilitation, and occupational and speech therapies). On an annual basis,
approximately 34,000 radiographic procedures are performed within this clinical
facility.
St. Francis Medical Center

As a regional referral center for central and northwest Nebraska, St. Francis
Medical Center is a 205-bed facility and is among the finest in the state.
SFMC focuses upon providing a wide variety of primary and specialty care including;
a birthing center, intensive care, coronary intensive care, 24 hour emergency
room, inpatient and outpatient surgery, laser surgery, lithotripsy, a cancer
treatment center, skilled nursing, renal dialysis, and many others. The radiology
department performs approximately 45,000 procedures per year which include;
CT, MRI, ultrasound, mammography, and cardio-vascular/interventional procedures.
University of Kansas Hospital

The 485-bed University of Kansas Hospital offers general and specialty services
for more than 14,000 inpatients annually. Over 350,000 visits are made to KU
Medical Center's outpatient clinics each year. Annually, KU Medical Center's
emergency room treats more than 26,000 patients. KU Hospital's inpatient services
include hospitalization for illnesses, injuries and surgeries. Surgeons perform
operations that are at the forefront of saving lives. The first liver transplant
in Kansas took place at the KU Medical Center in 1990, and 143 more liver transplant
surgeries have been performed since then. Other transplant operations here
include kidney, cornea, bone marrow, skin and tissue. The Department of Diagnostic
Radiology performs approximately 110,000 radiograph procedures annually.

Sterling Regional MedCenter has been serving the healthcare needs of the residents
of northeast Colorado and the surrounding areas since 1938. Located 120 miles
northeast of Denver, Sterling is a 36-bed acute care facility with Level III
trauma center, full rehab services, an affiliated Family Care Clinic and regional
Dialysis Center that serves residents of northeast Colorado, as well as Wyoming,
Nebraska and Kansas. Approximately 27,000 radiographic procedures are performed
annually.
