FHSU Student Government Association Holds a Bake Sale to Combat
Deferred Maintenance
The issue of deferred maintenance is one
of the most difficult issues facing Kansas Higher Education
today. The daunting challenges associated with deferred maintenance
at Kansas universities require the work of everyone. The Kansas
State Legislature has shown that it is moving slowly on this
issue.
In an effort to combat this problem, the FHSU Student Government
Association decided to hold a bake sale. The SGA Deferred Maintenance
bake sale was held Wednesday, March 28, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., outside
the Memorial Union.
SGA sold cookies to restore the classrooms, brownies
to fix the buildings, and candies to improve the campus. The lack
of resolve on the part of state leaders had made their efforts necessary
to this $662 million dollar problem. The
bake sale raised $50.70.
