Student Alumni Association

The Fort Hays State University Student Alumni Association is a campus organization, which is helping to build the future of the institution. An SAA member is a student volunteer who serves as a link with prospective students, current students, alumni, and the community. The organization is composed of enthusiastic students who are dedicated to service and who demonstrate potential for innovative and effective leadership.

In recognition of the fact that today's students will be tomorrow's alumni, SAA members are important participants in alumni gatherings across the state. SAA activities include Homecoming activities, special projects such as conducting the Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony, coordinating Care Packets & Celebration Cakes to FHSU students, Student Recognition Programs, the Endowment Phone-a-thon, and various other events throughout the year.

Students are the backbone of our University, and by participating as a Student Alumni Association member, the student adds a new and important dimension to the Admissions recruiting efforts. In recruiting students, Student Alumni Association members will be knowledgeable in basic information about FHSU. Each of the student's insights and experiences are unique, and that is what makes individual participation so valuable.

In fulfilling these requirements, SAA members will develop excellent communication skills, the ability to relate well with people of all ages, and obtain excellent knowledge of Fort Hays State University. SAA members are to present an honest, positive picture of the University to prospective students. Because these people are official student representatives, each SAA member must have a sincere regard for and positive outlook about Fort Hays State University.
