Institutional Committees

Fort Hays State University has formed a variety of committee and administrative structures to help implement the AQIP agenda on campus. Committees are made up of relevant stakeholders from many different areas of campus, including student representation.

Council for Institutional Effectiveness

The purpose of the Council is to enhance institutional effectiveness through the coordination and implementation of the university's participation in the North Central Association of Schools and Colleges (NCA) accreditation process known as the Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP). The Council will report to and make recommendations to the Strategic Planning Steering Committee which has leadership responsibility for AQIP.

Assessment Steering Committee

The purpose of the Assessment Steering Committee is to advise the Provost and members of the faculty, staff and student body on the role, organization and practice of assessment activities at Fort Hays State University with the aim of improving institutional effectiveness, student learning outcomes, and maintenance of the university plan.

Specialized Committees

Quality Champions

The AQIP University Quality Champions Team serves as a crucial liaison to the many academic and administrative units of the University. The Quality Champions is the policy advisory group implementing strategic direction for our AQIP initiatives. The Quality Champions has many analogies in the business world where individuals are commonly asked to bring forward quality initiatives and champion them to fruition. In this context, the Quality Champions team serves to monitor and report on the current implementation as well as to move individual quality initiatives forward. The specific expectations include:

  1. Serve as an AQIP informational liaison and advocate for a designated college or unit.
  2. Coordinate data collection for an assigned area of responsibility.
  3. Serve as the “point person” for AQIP for the designated college or unit.
  4. Prepare strategic documentation as needed.
  5. Serve as policy advisor for the campus AQIP project.
  6. Analyze and reflect on data gathered to provide input and strategic direction.
