What are the terms of membership?
Starting in 1999, Student Membership will run from October 1 to September 30. Applications for membership will be accepted throughout the school year, however, dues are never prorated. It is recommended that the application and submission process begin as close to the beginning of the school year as possible, or even during the late summer, so that students will receive all of their benefits and mailings for the full twelve months. We ask that president do not hold applications once they have been completed. Nation Headquarters will accept student application at anytime and in any quantity, whether it be large groups, small groups, or singles.

What is the application process?
It is preferred that students apply directly through their chapter president by completing an official ASID Student Chapter Membership Application. For each form submitted, there is $35 national membership fee. As a benefit, the dues also include access to Network ASID, the web based service, provided that the student has Internet access. Any additional dues which might be required by the Student Chapter are to be kept in the chapter fund. National dues remain the same throughout the school year and are not pro-rated upon the month of actual application. When the dues and application are received at National Headquarters, the student becomes eligible to participate in all ASID Chapter programs. In addition, s/he will be issued an ASID Student Chapter Membership card and will receive both the student newsletter, ACCESS, and ICON. ICON is the quarterly national publication that goes out to all ASID members. Both the magazine and newsletter are mailed to each student's current mailing address. ASID is not responsible for mailings not received due to change in address. Students are responsible for contacting the National Headquarters office directly to make address changes.
