| Joe Spangler is in his 7th season with the FHSU Tiger Track and Field Program.
He primarily works with the middle distance group and also helps with the sprinters.
As an athlete Spangler was a 6 time NJCAA National Qualifier
competing in the 600, 800, 4x400 and the 4x800. He was a 2 time All American in the 4x400 placing 6th and the 4x800 placing 4th. Spangler was on
the 2000 4x400 all conference team and was a member of the RMAC championship team that year.
Since Spangler has started coaching he has helped coach 5 RMAC Championship teams including several 4x400 conference champions.
Spangler graduated from FHSU in 2000 with a degree in Physical Education. He currently works full time at the Hays Recreation Commission as the
Aquatics and Wellness Director. Spangler resides in Hays with is wife, the former Erica Tiede.
