Make
this year's High Plains Band and Orchestra Camp and Summer Music
Festival the highlight of your summer! Thousands of middle and
high school instrumental students have attended the High Plains
Band Camp program. Founded in 1947 by the late Harold G. Palmer,
the camp continues to offer the experience of studying music
with outstanding musicians from around the country, for both
band and string students. Students experience a week of stimulating
and concentrated study in the art of music, under the guidance
of nationally recognized musicians, teachers and conductors.
Performances, concerts, and additional opportunities in recreation
and camp social life make the week an experience worth repeating
year after year.
High Plains Band Camp has expanded to include middle and high school
string players as full-fledged campers! In addition to Band, this
year’s camp features a full symphony orchestra for high school
string players and select winds, brass & percussion students.
Masterclasses
on state audition material. Now as a part of large ensemble
sectionals, high school students will get instruction
and tips on preparing state audition material. Get ahead
