RHYTHM FUNDAMENTALS
For the student wanting to improve his/her counting fundamentals. Guaranteed to make the student a better sight reader. All first year 6th & 7th grade campers will be enrolled in this.
MUSICAL PERSPECTIVES
Learn the who, what, when and why of classical music.
THEORY & EAR TRAINING
Train your ear to hear and to identify melodies, intervals and chords. Discover how music is put together.
CONDUCTING/DRUM MAJOR
This class provides the students with an opportunity to learn beat patterns, style, score reading and rehearsal techniques.
INSTRUMENT REPAIR
This class addresses basic instrument maintenance and adjustment. (Limited enrollment)
WOODWIND REPAIR
Learn about making minor repairs and adjustments to your woodwind instrument. (Limited enrollment)
BEGINNING JAZZ IMPROVISATION
So you want to be in Jazz Band. Learn how our great jazzers got their start (for students playing saxophone, trumpet or trombone).
JAZZ IMPROVISATION CLASS (SAX, TRUMPET, TROMBONE)
Discover relevant sounds for improving and learn to play notes not written on the page. Experiment with subconscious ideas and feel comfortable performing without music.
JAZZ PIANO
This class is offered for pianists interested in learning jazz chord structure and improvisation fundamentals. (Limited enrollment)
BEGINNING/ADVANCED ELECTRIC BASS
Learn the basics of bass guitar and study styles of bass guitar playing. (Must provide bass and amp.)
BEGINNING/ADVANCED DRUM SET (PERCUSSIONISTS ONLY)
For percussionists wanting to improve their skills on the drum set. (Must provide set.)
BEGINNING STEEL DRUMS
Learn the performing art of the steel drum! Drums are provided and no previous experience is necessary. This group will perform in the ensemble concert on Saturday morning. (Limited enrollment)
ADVANCED STEEL DRUMS
A class designed for students who had experience with steel drums in previous camps.
MARCHING TECHNIQUES
Be prepared and in shape for marching season this fall. This class will focus on basic guidelines for street and field marching.
VOICE CLASS
Enjoy taking private voice lessons in a class setting? With this class you can acquire coaching on how to utilize posture, breathing, face muscles and vowel production to make the most of your voice.
MULTIMEDIA PROJECTS
Learn the basics of Web design and prepare daily Web pages covering camp activities.
A FLUTE-PLAYING MAKEOVER
A fun way to totally transform your playing in just one week! Learn the tricks of the trade for better tone and intonation. Discover great warm-up exercises and more efficient ways to practice. Enjoy faster fingers and a beautiful vibrato.
DOUBLE-REED FANTASY
A workshop devoted to reed-making for oboists and bassoonists, intonation quick-fixes AND YES! DOUBLE REED IMPROVISATION.
SECONDARY INSTRUMENT CLASS
You just started a second instrument. . .bring it along! Make music with others who play more than one instrument. (Open to strings, wind or percussion instruments.)
