Position(s) Interviewing for:
~Grain Terminal Operations Management (Full Time)
The Grain Terminal Operations Management Trainee position is a three-stage position. We recruit a person into a twelve-month training position with at least a two-year degree in agriculture related studies. The employee will be stationed at one of approximately 50 elevators across the Midwest United States. The trainee then moves into stage two of their training program and will be relocated to a different elevator/terminal for further training. Stage three of this program is the continuous career advancement. Positions in stage three will include supervisors, superintendents, multiple location management, middle management, and corporate careers.

We are recruiting for our elevators in the Midwest. The training program is hands-on; the trainee will learn by performing the work with proper safety and supervision.

A trainee will be learning most of the activities at the elevator.

Exposure and training will be in:

•Loading and unloading grain trucks and railcars
•Sampling and grading grain
•Loading barges
•Overseeing hourly employees and assigning work
•Transferring, drying, storage, aeration, and blending of grain
•Repairs, troubleshooting and maintenance
•Preventative maintenance
•Implementation of safety programs and procedures
•Regulatory issues (OSHA, EPA, DNR, etc)
•DOT policies and procedures
•Basic accounting exposure—(understanding a balance sheet)

In the first five to seven years with ADM, an individual should expect to relocate two to three times. Relocation generally involves a promotion. Elevator operations may seasonally require longer working hours, shift work, and weekend work. Some locations may have full-time shift work and/or weekend schedules.

~Grain Terminal Operations Management Intern
A summer internship with ADM offers students the opportunity to unlock their potential. Our 10-12 week program invites the student to challenge their abilities within Grain Terminal Operations Management.

Students may find themselves unlocking their potential in a variety of different locations across the Midwest. All internships have the intent of exposing students to real-life work situations within the competitive agricultural industry.

Our program promotes the development of the student while providing a training ground for potential future employees, as it is our primary source for full-time employment.

Our program begins with a kick-off orientation event on May 15 & 16 and wraps up at summer’s end with a final program. For the senior interns, formal interviews are completed before returning to school, bringing closure to the internship experience.

An intern will be learning many of the activities at the elevator.

Exposure and training could be in the following:

•Loading and unloading grain trucks and railcars
•Sampling and grading grain
•Loading barges
•Overseeing hourly employees and assigning work
•Transferring, drying, storage, aeration, and blending of grain

•Regulatory issues (OSHA, EPA, DNR, etc)
•DOT policies and procedures
