~Financial Accounting Management Intern
Think about an internship where you get to the opportunity to apply knowledge gained in the classroom to a real life environment. Cargill Business Units operate as an independent entity with their own accounting staff, so you get the chance to work with a team. We develop our internship program so the intern becomes an active member of the accounting and finance staff with real work experience. Our internship program is the main source to fill our full-time entry-level accounting and finance jobs!

Principle Accountabilities:
- Assigned project work with cross-functional teams.
- Exposure to the "big picture" of Cargill with networking opportunities throughout the internship.
- Daily work similar to that of an entry-level accountant or financial analyst.
- Add value on a daily basis by contributing to your department or business unit.
- Participate in Intern Forum; an event held at Cargill Headquarters in Minneapolis, MN designed to orient you to Cargill, meet interns from across the country and network with finance professionals.
- Present to your team at the end of your internship summarizing what you worked on and learned at Cargill.

Environment:
- Internships are at least 12 weeks in duration with a monthly salary.
- Transportation to and from internship is reimbursed and housing assistance is provided.
- Team oriented, fast-paced and hands-on.
- Plant or office setting.

~Operations Associate

Position Title: Operations Associate
Location: Meat Solutions Plant Facility in locations such as Texas, Kansas, Pennsylvania, and Nebraska
Job Family: Operations
Business Unit: Cargill Beef, Regional Beef, Pork, Case Ready, Value Added Meats
Manager that Position Reports to: Reports to Department General Foreman, or Area Manager

The job responsibilities of an operations associate in one of Cargill Meat Solution’s Beef, Pork, Case Ready, or Value Added Meats facilities is to learn the work process flow within a particular department.
The associate will be trained in a number of areas to learn basic skills necessary to understand meat processing. These skills include:
·Processing plant process flow
·Determine & manage yields
·Meat variances,
·USDA regulations and requirements
·Labor costs fixed costs, variable costs, packaging and ingredient costs.
·Additional training in people leadership skills, OSHA requirements, ramp in and rotation schedules, safety training, HACCP, good manufacturing practices (GMP), coaching and HR practices.

A first assignment would be at the training location as a department supervisor in the fabrication, cut, slaughter, primary processing, further processing, or de-bone departments. A new hire will attend a three-day initial training in Wichita, KS and additional personal career development training.

A candidate’s first assignment can be at any of our plant location across the country.

~Cattle Feeder Associate
Position Title: Management Associate

Cargill’s Cattle Feeders division operates 5 cattle feedlots in Bovina, Dalhart, and Lockney, Texas; Leoti, Kansas and Eckley, Colorado. We are headquartered in Wichita, Kansas. Cattle produced in our feedlots are sent to Cargill Beef, also a Cargill company and our marketing ally, for processing and distribution.

A Management Associate will be placed in various positions in both the feedlots and general office during the first year of their career with us. At the feedlots they will be exposed to Safety, Feed yard Maintenance, Feed Milling and Distribution, Cattle Receiving, Health and Care, End-Point Management, Cattle Shipping and our alliance with Cargill Beef. At all stages of training the emphasis will be placed on learning as well as maximizing the returns on the cattle we ship. The general office training will include Cattle and Grain Procurement, Marketing, Risk Management, Accounting and Information Technologies. Management Associates customarily will spend their first year on various crews then manage / supervise a crew to gain hands on management experience.

~Human Resource Associate

Manager that Position Reports to: Location Human Resources Manager

As a Cargill Meat Solutions Human Resources Associate you will be assigned to one of our plant facilities as a human resources representative. Our plant facilities process animals into our many different product offerings. Typically these facilities will have between 600 and 3,000 employees. The plant environment is very fast paced and challenging. To aid in your developmental process, you will be expected to train in a number of departments (i.e. environmental, health, safety, maintenance, fabrication, primary processing, further processing, and slaughter) to gain a better understanding of our work processes.

Upon completion of your training you will be assigned a specific task within the human resources department. Some first assignments have been recruiting and hiring of hourly associates, benefits, compensation, safety, ergonomics, orientation, and training.

A high performer can expect to be enrolled into the Meat Solutions HR Development program within a year of their original assignment date.

The HR Development program is comprised of 8 modules covering topics such as the Cargill Meat Solutions HR strategic direction, valuing differences and talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, etc. An HR associate enrolled in the development program will spend one week a month at a designated location to review case studies regarding each module. The objective of the developmental program is to expose a new HR associate to a broad range of topics that will prepare them for a management role.

A natural job progression for a high performer would be to progress into an assistant human resources manager role and then into a human resources manager at one of our smaller facilities. Typically, these assignments will be at other locations.

~Sales Associate

Cargill Meat Solutions’ (CMS) sales organization is comprised of national, regional, distributive and geographic teams who collaborate to satisfy the needs of our customers across North America. The goal of our energetic sales professionals is to deliver distinctive value by creating customer solutions to strategic markets.

As a confident new member of our sales team you would enter as Sales Associate and spend most of your time building your knowledge and confidence to support your team. In time you will be working with customers as you distribute, sell, promote, and merchandise CMS products. You also will be responsible for executing company promotion, meeting inventory needs and monitoring the competitive activity within the region.

We expect our sales professionals to come to the organization with a broad based business perspective so that they have the foundation to understand the various aspects of our business. Newly hired sales associates can expect to be partnered with senior sales professionals to facilitate that understanding of our business as well as spend time in our production facilities. In addition, our training and development department will provide a full range of training courses to help you develop your sales, leadership, and business skills.

As a new hire you will spend 6 months in an intensive and demanding training program at a number of our plant facilities. The training program is designed to help new hires gain a broad perspective of the industry and core business functions that essential to CMS
