THE OPPORTUNITY:
Accounting Interns within Koch companies are involved with business transactions and decisions. You will be able to interact with a diverse group of business professionals within accounting, trading, marketing, and operations. Additionally, you will gain a solid understanding of the company you support, including profit drivers, industry, competitors, and the market in which the business competes. Due to Koch's breadth of businesses, accounting internships are varied and diverse.
While we believe a meaningful work experience is the most important part of a successful internship program, we still manage to have fun over the summer months. Over the course of your internship we build in exciting activities designed to make the intern experience a lively and educational one. A few of the activities you will be involved include Market Based Management training, City Wide Intern Events, Faculty Day, Family Day, and an end of summer banquet.
Our positions offer:
• The ability to manage front to back processes that require hands on, detailed accounting work.
• Financial Reporting & Analysis: develop an understanding of the relevant industries and market structure; build relationships with traders, marketers, and position managers; become knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with standards and other compliance requirements; contract capture, position/trade status reporting, settlement (A/R, A/P), financial analysis.
• Accounting processes: Balance Sheet reconciliations and research specific accounting treatments in accordance with GAAP.
• Cash management: Cash forecasting; provide support for short-term working capital and long-term structure requirements.

Information Technology interns within Koch Industries, Inc. will have the opportunity to be involved in and provide support for various Koch companies. Koch companies have various internship opportunities in the areas of Software Development and Business Systems Analysis. As an intern, your opportunities may include building new business tools, supporting existing applications and working on teams to understand requirements and translating them into solid technical solutions. Because you will actually be part of the business, you will be involved in a unique environment for teamwork and partnership, as well as given a wide array of opportunities to learn about our business while enhancing your technical skills.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
• Software Development: Visual Studio .Net, XML, C/C++, Powerbuilder, Informatica, PL/SQL, TSQL, and data management systems such as Oracle, Sybase, and SQL.
• Business System Analysis: Information gathering from the business groups, initial system design conversations, in depth interaction with the software development team, including coding in the technologies listed above.

Due to Koch's size and scale, Analyst Interns have the ability to focus their learning in a variety of disciplines, including: treasury, finance, commercial development, and credit risk management.

• Research and communicate market drivers to team members and business leaders.
• Develop industry and market understanding; build relationships with traders, marketers, and position managers; become knowledgeable of, and ensure compliance with, standards and other requirements; prepare financial analyses.
• Advance your knowledge of cash management by preparing cash forecasts and analyzing short-term working capital and long-term capital structure requirements.
•Enhance your financial modeling skills by building models to optimize scheduling/distribution, better understand credit risk, and analyze financial information.
