The Center for Civic Leadership (CCL) will be offering internships within five of their programs. These programs include: Kansas Youth Leadership Academy (KYLA), Leadership Education And Development (LEAD), Tigers in Service, American Democracy Project (ADP), and Service-Learning. Following the philosophy of the CCL to enhance civic leadership among individuals, CCL interns will have the opportunity to experience civic leadership firsthand. The CCL is looking for self-motivated, hard working students that are interested in helping others and working for the common good.

Launched in 2001 as an outreach division of Fort Hays State University’s Department of Leadership Studies, the Center for Civic Leadership is rapidly becoming a nationally recognized institute for citizen leadership development. The CCL provides high quality educational programs and initiatives designed to enhance civic leadership capabilities among participants.

Internships will run from the first day of each semester until the last day of the semester for each academic year.

Both credit and non-credit internships are available to all majors. Students wishing to enroll for credit must see their advisor to make arrangements and register within their respective departments. Those receiving credit from their respective departments must adhere to the specifications and criteria of internships set forth by those departments.

Paid and unpaid internships are available. Those getting paid for their internship will work up to 20 hours per week and pay will be based on student hourly wages. Salary will further be discussed during the interview and selection process.

Applicants must be a graduate or undergraduate student at a college or university.
