The ADP is a multi-campus initiative that seeks to create an intellectual and experiential understanding of civic engagement in the US. The project targets undergraduates enrolled at institutions that are members of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU). The New York Times will play a key role in working with participating AASCU campuses to promote thoughtful student dialogue about — and engagement in — contemporary issues of civic concern.

This student-run program is designed to match volunteers with service opportunities in the Hays area. Sponsored by the Student Government Association and the Center for Civic Leadership, Tigers In Service will be a clearinghouse for students with a desire to participate in community service activities. Group volunteer opportunities and one-time events will be coordinated.

Service-Learning means getting students involved outside of the classroom to enhance their learning and growth while also benefiting the community. In addition to acting outside the classroom, students also reflect on that action. The experience is closely related to the academic goals of the class.
