Launched in 2001 as an outreach division of Fort Hays State University’s Department of Leadership Studies, the Center for Civic Leadership is rapidly becoming a nationally recognized institute for citizen leadership development. Through its six programs (Kansas Youth Leadership Academy (KYLA), Service-Learning, Leadership Education And Development (LEAD), The American Democracy Project (ADP), Tigers in Service, and Leadership Papers) CCL provides high quality educational programs and initiatives designed to enhance civic leadership capabilities among participants. Tigers in Service is a student run program that acts as a clearing house for volunteers to participate in community service activities.

LEAD
LEAD provides leadership education and development activities to citizens in the midwest region.

ADP
The American Democracy Project is a multi-campus initiative encouraging undergraduates to understand and participate in civic engagement.
KYLA
KYLA, a statewide and comprehensive program, promotes youth leadership development.
Service Learning
Service-Learning integrates community service projects into an academic curriculum.


Leadership Papers is a publication series developed and produced by the Center for Civic Leadership (CCL).
