Dr. Curt Brungardt

Dr. Brungardt was awarded
the Omer G. Voss Distinguished Professorship, becoming only
the second university faculty member to have a position created
under the Regent's Faculty of Distinction Program. In August
of 2005, Dr. Brungardt stepped down as chair of the Department
of Leadership Studies when his position took effect and continues
as the Director of the Center for Civic Leadership.
Over the last twelve years, he has presented and facilitated
over 100 workshops throughout America. In addition, Dr. Brungardt
has authored and co-authored three books and a dozen articles in the field
of leadership studies.
Most importantly, he is a husband, father, and an avid sailor. |

Mrs. Arnold is a 1997 graduate of Fort Hays State University with a B.B.A. in accounting. After several years serving as the Office Manager for the Department of Leadership Studies and the Center for Civic Leadership, she is know serving as the Assistant Director of the CCL and KYLA. She has served on the Kansas Womens Leadership Conference planning committee, worked with the Readership Program through the ADP, and facilitated numerous times for a variety of KYLA events.
Chantelle and her family currently reside in Hays, Kansas where she is actively involved with her children's activities, Sigma Phi Gamma social and service sorority, and the Roosevelt Home and School Association. |

Mrs. Stremel is the Office Manager for the Center for Civic Leadership and Leadership Studies Department. Her previous work experience includes the Farm Service Agency and Fort Hays State University Admissions Department. Kelsey graduated from FHSU in 2005 with a B.S. in Ag Business and minor in Public Relations. She was an award winning Livestock Judging Team member, and active in many student organizations including Block & Bridle, Agri Business Club, Public Relations Team, and Student Government Association.
A native of Oregon, Kelsey resides with her family in Hays, KS. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, working on the family farm, music, and facilitating 4-H and FFA events.

Mr. Whitaker serves as the Director of Leadership Education and Development. He is involved in a wide range of projects including the Leaderville Series, Kansas Womens Leadership Conference and the LeadOFF retreat, and works with all of the programs within the Center for Civic Leadership. Brett is very passionate about leadership training, especially to rural and community based organizations.
Brett was born in Florida, but considers Sublette, KS to be his home. He recieved his bachlors degree in Organizational Leadership from FHSU in December of 2006, and is currently pursuing his masters. Some of Brett’s favorite activities include SCUBA diving, fishing, reading, water skiing, and spending time with his family. |

Ms. Ward serves as the Assistant Director of Leadership Education and Development. Stacy is from Valley Center, KS and is majoring in Psychology with a minor in Leadership Studies. She will also be serving as an intern for the Kansas Women’s Leadership Conference.
Stacy has served as a KYLA camp counselor and facilitator, and is a Tigers in Service volunteer. She is passionate about leadership training and working with youth, as well as serving the community. Stacy is an officer of Psi Chi/Psychology club and is an Anderson V.I.P. Ambassador. She enjoys reading books and spending time with friends.

Mr. Hughes is attending Fort Hays State University as a junior this year. He will be serving as the Student Director of the American Democracy Project. Tyler has always taken an active role in civic education, and looks forward to serving the community in this manner. He is majoring in Political Science with a minor in Communication Studies.
Born in Wyoming, Tyler considers Leoti, Kansas to be his hometown. In addition, Tyler serves as the Legislative Affairs Director of the Student Government Association, plays the sousaphone in the Tiger Marching Band, and is a proud Sinfonian. Tyler enjoys reading, spending time with friends and family, and is a devoted fan of Major League Baseball.

Ms. Colglazier serves as Director of Tigers in Service at Fort Hays State University. Kelsey is from Larned, Kansas and is majoring in Elementary Education. She will also be serving as the Fort Hays State University’s representative for the new project, Kansas Corps.
Kelsey was an active member of Tigers in Service during her first year at FHSU. She enjoys spending her time serving others. In addition, Kelsey is also a member of the FHSU Woman’s Chorale and is an Anderson V.I.P. Kelsey enjoys being involved with intramurals and loves to spend time with family and friends. |

Ms. Zimmerman is attending Fort Hays as a freshman this year. She will be working for Tigers in Service as Assistant Director. Rindi is from Junction City, Kansas and has a major of Speech-Language Pathology.
Through her high school years, Rindi was very active in the leadership program (KYLA) here at FHSU. Now, she is very excited to work for TIS and make a difference in the community. Rindi has a passion for helping others and is continually looking for new ways to touch other's lives in a positive way. Rindi loves to dance, read, watch her favortie sport, football, and hang out with her three younger siblings.

Mrs. Klein is the director for the Kansas
Youth Leadership
Academy. A public school educator since 1993, Cathie has been
actively involved in helping youth strive to reach their greatest
potential. She assisted in the establishment of a middle school
character education program, and served as a member of the
KYLA
advisory board.
Cathie holds a M.L.S. in Organizational Leadership from Fort
Hays
State University. She enjoys watching movies and spending
time
with her husband and two children. |

Ms. Melia is the Assistant to the Director for the Kansas Youth Leadership Academy. She is also serving as an AmeriaCorps Volunteer In Service To America for one years. She serves on the University Service-Learning Committee, facilitates for KYLA, and handles administrative duties for the office of KYLA.
Sarah, a Rozel native, graduated in May 2007 with a degree in marketing. During her college tenure she was actively involved in the University Activities Board (UAB), Student Government Association, the College of Business and Leadership Student Advisory Council, TigerWild, and the Special Events Committee. In her spare time, Sarah enjoys watching movies, hanging out with her friends, and playing board games, especially Trivial Pursuit- Pop Culture Edition. |

Ms. Walsh is the Student Assistant for the Kansas Youth Leadership Academy. She has served as a KYLA camp counselor, facilitated at numerous seminars and specialized training, and assists in the coordination of the Leadership on and off the field conferences.
Amy is from Long Island, NY and is pursuing a bachelor's degree in Organizational Leadership and a certificate in Human Resource Management. Amy enjoys hanging out with her friends and is an avid fan of Walt Disney. |
