Conditional Teaching Licenses
To move to a professional license:
- Verification of completion of the teaching performance assessment (KPA) during this conditional license
OR
1st Conditional License
To obtain an additional conditional license: If within five years of date of issuance of this conditional: simply submit an application for conditional license.
If more than five years of date of issuance of this conditional: submit application and verify ONE of the following:
- Passing scores for the appropriate content assessment(s) AND the Principles of Learning and Teaching taken less than one year ago OR
- Eight semester hours of recent graduate level credit related to endorsement(s) on the conditional license OR
- One year of recent accredited experience in your conditional endorsement(s) area.
AND
NOTE: If any applicant fails to successfully complete the KPA during four years of accredited experience under conditional licenses, they will be denied access to additional conditional licenses.
Additional conditionals could then only be accessed after working with the verifying teacher education institution to complete additional credit hour requirements and an unpaid supervised internship.
2nd Conditional License
To move to a professional license:

OR
If you cannot complete the KPA because you are not currently employed OR because you are not employed in an appropriate assignment:
To obtain an additional conditional license, submit application and ONE of the following:
- Passing scores for the appropriate content assessment(s) AND the Principles of Learning and Teaching taken less than one year ago OR
- Eight semester hours of recent graduate level credit related to endorsement(s) on the conditional license OR
- One year of recent accredited experience in your conditional endorsement(s) area.
