FHSU, its employees, and TigerTracks operate on Central Standard Time. Please remember this in regards to university deadlines or when you are calling offices on campus.
HELPFUL ENROLLMENT ADVICE:
- Pay attention to prerequisite (PR) requirements for courses. A PR is a requirement that must be successfully completed or a condition to be met before enrolling in a course. For example, you must take Accounting 203 before taking Accounting 204. Please visit the new link detailing all COBL prerequisites.
- Did you take a summer course at a local community college? Are you currently taking a class somewhere besides FHSU? Don’t forget to send updated transcripts to the Registrar’s Office so your FHSU transcript reflects those credits.
USEFUL ACADEMIC SUCCESS ADVICE
- Contact your instructor before your class gets unmanageable. Instructors are a lot more willing to assist students that make an intentional effort to communicate with them. Don’t assume your instructor knows your situation; just like any healthy relationship, communication is the key.
- Business majors are required to take College Algebra, Calculus, and Statistics. You will find that taking these courses may help you understand other courses better. Some COBL courses even have these math courses as prerequisites. Don’t procrastinate on taking math classes or you may find your graduation delayed.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. I am dissatisfied with myself because poor performance in a past course is hurting my GPA. What are my options?
A. FHSU understands that students can encounter obstacles in life that prevents them from performing their best. For this reason, there is a policy regarding removing an ‘Incomplete’ from your transcript or improving a grade.
