ANNOUNCEMENTS:
I will begin scheduling pre-enrollment advising appointments starting
September 22nd. The tentative start
date for virtual Spring 2009 pre-enrollment is October 20th. Please plan on completing a 15-minute
phone advising appointment before your pre-enrollment date. My office hours
are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CST Monday through Friday. Your pre-enrollment will
not be approved prior to your completion of an advising appointment. If
there is some reason that you cannot complete a phone advising appointment, other
arrangements will be made in order to complete your advising appointment. These
appointments are for your benefit; please make an effort to schedule early.
HELPFUL ENROLLMENT ADVICE:
- Pay attention to prerequisite (PR) requirements for courses. A PR is a
requirement that must be successfully completed or a condition to be met
before enrolling in a course. You can view the PR for a course by clicking
on the course title in Tiger Enroll.
- Are all your official transcripts on file in the Registrar’s Office? Did
you take a summer course at a local community college? Are you currently
taking a class somewhere besides FHSU? Don’t forget to send an updated
official transcript to the Registrar’s Office so your FHSU transcript
reflects those credits.
- If you are graduating in December remember to file the Intent to Graduate
Form. The form is located on Tiger Tracks under the Online Services
tab.
USEFUL ACADEMIC SUCCESS ADVICE
As Virtual College students you have many resources available to you. Just
because you do not come to campus to take your courses doesn’t mean you
cannot utilize our on-campus Library. You can access academic journal articles
online, search databases of information, and view electronic books & texts.
Every academic topic possible can be found. So the next time you’re having
trouble writing that research paper, information is just a click away. http://www.fhsu.edu/forsyth_lib/resources.shtml
