The Management Development Center (MDC) and Center for Entrepreneurship (CFE) are seeking businesses interested in providing internship employment opportunities for Robbins College of Business & Entrepreneurship (RCOBE) students at Fort Hays State University (FHSU). Thanks to generous donations from the Dane G. Hansen Foundation & Peter and Pamela Werth, businesses can hire a student intern at a significantly reduced cost through this program. FHSU will facilitate employment. Student applicants will be screened by FHSU representatives with each business making the final selection on the student intern.
Northwest Kansas-based businesses are under the direction of the MDC. Entrepreneurial-based internship experiences are managed by Henry Schwaller, Director of the CFE. Businesses which fit within both categories should submit an application to each party’s contact information listed on page three of the application below.
For $500, businesses can be awarded a college student intern for 15 hours per week for 16 weeks of the academic semester ( 8 weeks for summer.)
Internship opportunities may be available in the areas of accounting, business communications, computer networking, economics, finance, human resources, management information systems, marketing, operations management, tourism and hospitality, web design, etc.
With limited funding, businesses and students will be selected through a competitive selection process. Successful business applicants include a well thought-out job description, job posting, or learning objective plan. Priority will be given to Northwest Kansas businesses or individuals who are in the start-up process or in their first 1-3 years of business; however, all businesses are welcome to apply!
