The Management Development Center (MDC) is seeking businesses interested in providing internship employment opportunities for College of Business and Entrepreneurship (COBE) students at Fort Hays State University. Thanks to a generous donation from the Dane G. Hansen Foundation and Peter and Pamela Werth, businesses can hire a student intern at a significantly reduced cost through this program.
Internship opportunities are available in the areas of accounting, management information systems, finance, business communications, human resources, economics, operations management, marketing, tourism and hospitality, computer networking and web design.
Funding is limited, so businesses and students will be selected through a competitive process. Priority will be given to Northwest Kansas businesses or individuals who are in the start-up process or in their first 1-3 years of business; however, all businesses are welcome to apply!
Please see the business application for details about the program and information needed to apply. Spring 2016 internship application priority deadline is Friday, October 9, 2015. Available internship positions for spring will be advertised to prospective student interns beginning October 16, 2015.
For $500, businesses can utilize a college intern for 15 hours per week
for 16 weeks (fall academic semester). The first payment ($250 deposit)
for spring student interns will be due early February. The second
payment will be due early April
(remaining $250). A single payment of $500 is optional.
Fort Hays State University will facilitate student employment. Student applicants will be
screened by the MDC Director and Internship Coordinator with each business making the final
selection on the student intern.
