Entrepreneurial Club
Mission
The Fort Hays State University (FHSU) Entrepreneurial
Club is dedicated to providing a venue for business and non-business
students to increase their awareness about and become involved in
starting, developing, and growing their own businesses. These goals
are accomplished by securing guest speakers (real-life entrepreneurs
and venture capitalists), networking opportunities, think-tank sessions,
field trips to local entrepreneurial businesses, advice on business
plan preparation, access to start-up capital, community service
activities. Also, students have an opportunity to share business
ideas with each other and with small business owners, who will provide
advice on implementing entrepreneurial ideas.
Strategy
Networking will be a major function of this Club.
Members may meet and pool their resources or experiences to launch
or expand on ideas. The Club also serves as a resource for young
start-up companies recruiting students through the resume book and
internship listings. In addition to providing advice to new entrepreneurs,
the Club is also a source of sponsoring events for the network.
Management
This Club is a student-driven enterprise. Elections
are held to elect officers. The College of Business and Leadership
assigns a faculty-adviser, whose job it is to ensure that Club’s
activities are implemented.
