CONCENTRATION IN COMMUNITY COUNSELING

Graduate Teaching Assistantships in Counseling
Students interested in graduate teaching assistantships should apply to the Graduate school.
General Description
The graduate program in school counseling requires 48 semester credits of coursework. The curriculum is designed to prepare students for Kansas Endorsement in School Counseling. Students may select from two curriculum options: Thesis option (51 hours) or non-thesis option (48 hours).
Practicum/Internships
The required 9 credits of practicum and internship are designed to give the student practical experience and preparation in professional skills, in addition to exposure to the structure of a school counseling program. Practicum requires students to complete supervised experiences that total a minimum of 100 clock hours. Internship requires students to complete supervised experiences that total a minimum of 600 clock hours.

Students may select from two curriculum options: Thesis option (54 hours) or non-thesis option (48 hours).
