Incoming freshmen and students new to FHSU will complete the FHSU online application on the FHSU Admissions Website
Students re-entering FHSU will need to complete the application for undergraduate re-entry online.
ALL STUDENTS will select a field of Study (Major) of Early Childhood Unified in their FHSU online application. Below is an example of what the beginning of the application will look like and how to select a major.
For additional questions, contact the Registrar's Office at: 1-800-628-FHSU or 785-628-4222 or Dr. Judy A. Nixon at 785-628-5845.
To change your major you will need to meet personally or visit with your current advisor by phone and request that your files are sent to the Teacher Education Department. That way the Teacher Education Department chair can change your major and assign you an ECU advisor. Either your new advisor or your old advisor will update your degree change within the system. You can check to see who your advisor is by looking at your [Student Web Services] account.
A degree summary showing the requirements for the Early Childhood Unified Teacher Education Degree Program and courses completed is prepared by transcript analysts in the Office of the Registrar for each first semester junior (completion of 60+ credit hours). The ECU Coordinator and the student should sign the summary no later than the end of a student’s first semester of their junior year. The signed summary is placed on file with the transcript analysts in the Office of the Registrar. Students are encouraged to confer with the transcript analysts (785-628-4222) pertaining to their individual Degree Programs.
