* The SLP 817: Research in Health Professions is a required course of the FHSU Graduate School. Students have concurrent enrollment in SLP 814: Independent Study: Research Development and then are enrolled in SLP 814: Independent Study: Research Project or in SLP 899: Thesis in Speech-Language Pathology.

The graduate program in speech-language pathology in the Department of Communication Disorders at Fort Hays State University is nationally accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). The Department prepares students for clinical certification by ASHA and professional Licensure by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
