NSSLHA

NSSLHA has continued to stay busy each semester with a variety of activities and fundraisers.  For the past few semesters, a group of 22 graduate students and one undergraduate student have been working hard to raise money to attend the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Convention in San Diego, CA Nov. 17-19, 2011. This fall, NSSLHA continued on with the tradition of participating in Oktoberfest. NSSLHA designed shirts as a group and sold them within the department and also at Oktoberfest. Despite the rain on Oktoberfest, NSSLHA was able to sell 380 t-shirts. On October 28th, NSSLHA hosted a Halloween bake sale at the union. Money raised from selling tasty treats benefited NSSLHA. On November 4th, NSSLHA along with Smoothie King participated in another fundraiser for the ASHA convention. Smoothie King agreed to give a fraction of the profit made that night to the student’s national convention expenses. Also, throughout the month of November, NSSLHA will be selling Scentsy® candles as a fundraiser for the organization.
