Information for Summer Graduates
FHSU holds one commencement ceremony each year following the spring semester. All Summer 2016 graduates are invited to participate in the Spring 2017 commencement ceremony. Official information about commencement will be mailed to the permanent address and emailed to the FHSU and secondary email addresses that we have on file in March 2017. Don’t forget to update your contact information to ensure that you receive this important information.
Summer 2016 graduates' names will appear in the Spring 2017 commencement program. If you do not attend the commencement ceremony, you will need to request a copy of the program from the Registrar's office.
Your diploma will be mailed to you 4-6 weeks following the end of your final semester. If you did not attend commencement in May 2016, you will receive a diploma cover and tassel along with your diploma. Diplomas are sent to the address indicated on the intent to graduate form. If you have moved or wish to have your diploma sent to another address, you will need to contact your degree analyst to update the address before the end of the summer semester.
Summer graduates have the option to participate in the spring commencement ceremony prior to the summer they graduate or the spring commencement ceremony following the summer they graduate. For Summer 2017 graduates, this means you have the option to participate in Spring 2017 or Spring 2018. If you choose to participate in the ceremony prior to your graduation, you will need to contact the Registrar's office (for Associates and Bachelor's candidates) or the Graduate School (for Master's and Ed.S. candidates) no later than March 1, 2017, to ensure that your name will appear in the commencement program. If you do not attend either ceremony, your name will appear in the Spring 2018 program. You will need to request a copy of the program from the Registrar's office.
