Grad Fest 2011

GradFest is cosponsored by the Alumni Association and University Bookstore. All members of the Class of 2011 are invited to celebrate their upcoming graduation. Sign up for prizes, enjoy refreshments, pick up your regalia, purchase a Class of 2011 t-shirt and find information on everything you need to successfully navigate the graduation process. Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science Graduation

Graduation of the "Pioneer" class of students of the Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science - this is the first class of KAMS students to graduate. KAMS would love to have faculty and staff from across the university attend the graduation.

Graduate School Honors Ceremony
Tuesday, May 10, 7 p.m., Eagle Hall, Robbins Center
This event is intended to recognize graduate education and research and creative activities at FHSU. The following types of activity are highlighted at this ceremony: (1) outstanding contributions of graduate assistants, (2) outstanding thesis and field studies and MFA catalogs, (3) outstanding work by graduate faculty advisors, (4) samples of research and creative activity excellence by graduating master's and education specialist students, and (5) recognition and promotion of research and creative activities during the past year.
The event is open to all graduate students, graduate faculty, staff, and family members. No ticket is required for admission.

Graduates are invited to join their classmates, professors, friends and family for the annual Graduate and Faculty Luncheon dedicated to recognizing and honoring all graduates and nominees for the Torch, Pilot, and Navigator awards. This event is to recognize the candidates for the BSN and MSN in nursing and other honors and awards.
This event is open. Parents, significant others, and friends are welcome. No tickets are required.

Graduate School Commencement
Friday, May 13, 7 p.m., Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center, Sheridan Hall
Graduate School Commencement will include hooding and represents official conferral of graduate degrees. Graduate students are encouraged to attend. Graduate students will not participate in the undergraduate commencement on Saturday, May 14, 2011.
- No tickets are required. Family and friends are invited to attend.
- There will not be a processional for graduate students. Candidates will be seated by college; signs will be posted on the rows. Ushers will be present.
- Seating for the disabled is available. One person, if necessary, may accompany an individual in this seating area. There is not sufficient space in this area for entire families. Specific arrangements for candidates with disabilities will be accommodated. Please contact the Graduate School in advance.
- The candidate, after having his or her name read, is hooded by the graduate dean, receives diploma cover, and congratulations from university president.
- Cap, gown, hood, tassel, and name cards are available at the Memorial Union Bookstore on campus on May 12 and 13. Note: If students cannot pick up regalia during scheduled times, please contact the University Bookstore at firstname.lastname@example.org
- Women are requested to wear dark dress shoes and men wear white shirts and dark shoes. Please consider that feet and legs below the gown will be visible on stage. Candidates should wear the tassel on the left side of the cap. Hood will be carried over the left arm.
- The commencement photographer will take pictures as candidates leave the stage. The ceremony will be shown live on the internet. Also, a DVD of the ceremony will be available.
- Parking will be available on campus.
- Flowers will be available for purchase in the lobby. Prices range from $15-$25.
- A reception will be held in the lobby following the ceremony.
