Background
Erin Renard comes to FHSU from the Garden State, New Jersey. As
a youth she studied theatre and dance in New York and New Jersey,
later attending William Patterson University majoring in Theatre
with a minor in Dance. She holds a B.S. in General Science and
an M.S. in Communication Studies with an emphasis in Theatre from
FHSU.
Her theatrical experience includes acting,
directing and choreography at New York University, McCarter Theatre
(Princeton University), William Patterson University, Wichita
Community Theatre, Russell Community Theatre, and Fort Hays State
Theatre. She recently performed and directed monologues in Hays
Community Theatre's production
of Jane Martin's Talking With...
Erin is an original member, actor and writer
of the educational improvisation company, Good
Clean Fun, performing
original shows on the east coast both live and for cable television.
While at FHSU, Erin chaired the first V-Day College Campaign
and directed The Vagina Monologues, which raised over
$5,000 for a local women's
shelter.
She has been seen on local television in Nex-Tech
commercials, on a TV-episode of Weird Scienc, and Ang
Lee's feature film, Ride With The Devil. Erin has worked
with such actors as Tobi McGuire (Spiderman) Skeet Ulrich
(As
Good as it Gets), Paul Urcioli (The Atlantic Acting School),
Lelia Kenzel (Mad About You), Burt Gilliam (Blazing
Saddles, Paper Moon),
and Ian Zeiring (90210, Dancing With the
Stars) and stage directors
such as Kevin Kittle (Mason Gross School of the Arts/Columbia
University) Dave Danenfelser (Wells College) andfFilm director
Ang Lee. As a singer/songwriter/guitarist, Erin performs locally
with the folk group, The Mother Folkers.
Her education experience encompasses every grade, pre-school through
college, most recently as Instructor of English Composition and
Oral Communication at the Northwest Kansas Technical College, Hays,
KS.
Erin is also an avid cyclist and equestrian, competing in New
Jersey, New York, Kansas, Colorado and Oklahoma. She currently
lives on a horse farm with her husband, son, and animal menagerie.
