Goals for the Department
Mrs. Huntington has several
goals for the Communication Studies department. She would like
to see the Public Relations section
expand to become its own area. "This is the fastest growing
segment of the mass communications industry at the present time,
and the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates it will remain
one of the Top 5 industry growth areas in the U.S. until the
year
2005."
She is also excited about the department
adding digital photography to the curriculum. Due to funding
from the
Student Government Association Equipment fund, the University
Leader and Reveille received their own digital camera in the
fall of 2000.
Mrs. Huntington would also like to
see a Web design course added to the department's curriculum.
