Get Involved. Build Your Resume. Make a Difference.

College is about more than taking classes to earn a degree. Meet new people, put your academic interests into action and gain valuable leadership experience by getting involved in student organizations. The Department of Communication Studies sponsors a number of relevant student organizations.

TigerCOMM

TigerCOMM is a student organization open to all majors interested in public relations and advertising. TigerCOMM focuses on sharpening students' professional skills in the communication field. The group meets bi-weekly and sponsors a professional speakers program on campus which provides small-group interactions between our members and professionals in the field. TigerCOMM also operates AdMagination, a student-run public relations and advertising agency. Students get hands-on experience with clients on campus and in Hays and Ellis County communities.

The University Leader
Be involved in your university’s happenings by writing for the student-run newspaper. The University Leader is a weekly publication that allows you the chance to engage in writing, editing, photography, advertising and other options while getting paid! Students in all majors can participate and are encouraged to take on as many, or few, assignments as their schedule allows. Visit the University Leader Web site  to learn more.
