Activities and Student Organizations
Students in the Department of Communication Studies
have the opportunity to be professionally involved in the discipline.
Communication Sudies majors can participate in a variety of
clubs and organizations: Lambda Pi Eta, the National Communication
Honorary; COMM Club, an FHSU group devoted to professional,
social, and service activities; Public Relations Student Society, an FHSU group that
focuses on developing Public Relations/Advertising/Journalism
knowledge; Fringe Theatre, an FHSU group that performs peer education
programs for area schools; and Alpha Psi Omega, the National
Theatre Honorary.
Communication Studies majors active in
forensics can participate in the Talking Tiger Debate program
and join the national speech honorary, Pi Kappa Delta. Journalism
and Public Relations offers students an opportunity to participate
in the University Leader
(the campus newspaper) and Reveille (campus yearbook).
