Laptops, projectors, and screens are the most popular items, but a variety of sound/recording equipment and miscellaneous computer accessories are also available. MEC no longer carries digital cameras or video equipment.

All faculty and staff with a valid FHSU ID may check out supplies from MEC. Students in need of equipment loans are encouraged to visit the One-Stop Shop in Forsyth Library.
A new policy in place, effective August 2010, is that items are available for checkout for one week, with a maximum of one week renewal. This allows our inventory to be more complete. If someone needs a semi-permanent solution, they should visit with PC Support about options to purchase equipment.
Each piece of equipment is labeled with its title, phone numbers to call for assistance on hardware and software issues and a copy of the MEC agreement.
All walk-in and telephone requests will be accompanied by a form requiring a signature to a liability policy. This holds people accountable for replacements if something is lost or damaged, and will cut down on items going missing. MEC is working toward a web-based solution with the CTC HelpDesk staff to be in place in the near future.
The Memorial Union hosts many events in which participants request technology assistance and devices. Since the 2007 renovation, most rental spaces in the Memorial Union have projectors and screens provided. The Reservation Office will let participants know what equipment is already available at the Memorial Union, but if more equipment is needed, participants need to request items from Media Equipment Checkout for delivery.
