Access to Scatcat E-Mail System to be Discontinued December 31, 2012
Earlier this year (June 1), FHSU’s student Scatcat e-mail system was moved to a new Google Apps platform, and all Scatcat users were issued a new “FHSU Mail” (mail.fhsu.edu) address. At that time, folders and messages for Scatcat accounts that had been accessed since Jan. 1, 2012 were automatically transferred to the new FHSU Mail system. Users whose content was not automatically transferred were provided with a transfer request option.
If you have already begun using the new FHSU Mail system and are able to view your messages that existed prior to June 1, 2012, you do not need to do anything.
If you have messages in your old Webmail Inbox or folders received prior to June 1, 2012 that have NOT been transferred to the new FHSU Mail system, and you wish to access them in the future, you must go into the Webmail tab in TigerTracks and select the option to request that your Scatcat folders and messages be transferred by December 31, 2012. After this date, access to any folders and messages not transferred to the FHSU Mail system will be discontinued.
The following changes will occur:
- Access to the legacy Webmail application will be discontinued.
- Access to any messages or folders not transferred from an old Scatcat account into the new FHSU Mail account will be discontinued.
The link to the new FHSU Mail system will remain available in its current location in the TigerTracks portal.
Those who had a Scatcat e-mail address are encouraged to give everyone their new FHSU Mail (mail.fhsu.edu) address. Delivery of messages sent to an old Scatcat e-mail address into the new FHSU Mail account will continue for the foreseeable future, but will be discontinued at an undetermined date.
For additional information about this transition, see Using FHSU Mail. If you have questions or if you would like assistance accessing your student e-mail account, please contact the CTC HelpDesk.
